The idea for the Jeremiah House began in the home of Starlene Castellaw back in 1998 when she took some children in to help them with their homework. She noticed how hungry the children were both physically & spiritually and ended up feeding them too. Eventually the ministry outgrew her small apartment so she asked her church for help.
Bethel Baptist voted to use these two buildings to help with space for the Jeremiah House. The buildings we now occupy were actually a spanish speaking church, Iglesia Baptist, pastored by a member of Bethel. The name for the new ministry was selected based on a scripture in Jeremiah.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord."
